Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has attributed his team's 1-0 victory over Chelsea in Sunday's Premier League match to their strong competitiveness and defensive prowess against the home team.

According to reports, Ollie Watkins secured the sole goal of the game in the second half.

It is worth noting that Malo Gusto was shown a red card during the match at Stamford Bridge.

Emery shares thoughts at post-match Press Conference: “To win here is not easy and if the match was going differently, we could have lost as well but I am happy because we were very competitive and good defensively.”

He added: “He [Watkins] works hard every day, he practises with his teammates and his commitment is amazing. We will need his goals, like today. Emiliano Martinez played very well.”

Aston Villa's victory against Chelsea has propelled them to sixth place, accumulating 12 points from six matches.
