EPL: ‘He’s not playing his game’ — Arsenal midfielder receives criticism from Sol Campbell

Sol Campbell, the former Arsenal star, has expressed his disappointment with midfielder Jorginho following a 2-2 draw in the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, led by Mikel Arteta.

Jorginho was substituted in at half-time due to Declan Rice's suspected left calf injury. At the time of his entrance, the score was tied at 1-1, with Cristian Romero's own goal and Son Heung-min's strike contributing to the deadlock.

In the second half, Arsenal took the lead once again thanks to Bukayo Saka's penalty. However, their advantage was short-lived as Jorginho, a former Chelsea player, made a costly mistake.

Jorginho hesitated with the ball and was swiftly dispossessed by James Maddison from Tottenham. Maddison then passed the ball to Son, who easily scored past Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

Reflecting on Jorginho's error, Sol Campbell, speaking on Premier League Productions, commented that the 31-year-old was not performing at his usual level.

Sol said: “He’s not playing his game. He’s usually getting the ball and moving it quickly—that is his game. He had a chance to pass to Ben White out wide. He was scanning and scanning, and he just got in a muddle and they nicked the ball from him. So many goals are scored in the first five minutes after your opponents score. You have to be aware.”
