Comedian Mr Macaroni was earlier reported by Nollywood Times to have called out Nigerian senators over the so-called Holiday Allowances saying they prioritize their personal holiday over the suffering of Nigerians.
However, joining the bandwagon is Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw. She said the only ‘prayers’ going into the ‘mailboxes’ of poor Nigerians are more taxes and burdens.
Henshaw also reacted to the assurance of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio to colleagues during Wednesday’s plenary session that “prayers” had been sent to them as they embark on a recess.
Akpabio said, “In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the Clerk of the National Assembly.”
However, the Senate President later withdrew the statement rephrasing the supposed disbursement as “prayers” sent to their “mailboxes”.
The words of the Senate President has caused a lot of displeasure among Nigerians and they did not hold back from castigating the on social media. Many tagged the lawmakers as insensitive to poor Nigerians.
Kate Henshaw in her words said Nigerian lawmakers care nothing about poor Nigerians.
She wrote, “The only “prayers” going into the “mail” of Nigerians is more taxes, more burdens, more “grin & bear it”, more “we don’t give a f@#k”.
