The record breaker is at it again, breaking more records. Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Davido Adeleke has proven once more that he is number one in Africa when it comes to Afrobeats. He has set a new record for other African artistes to surpass.
Recently, Davido had an exhilarating show in Toronto and in the process, became the first African artist to sell out a 16k-capacity in Canada. He crashes the record that even Burna Boy and Wizkid have not managed to meet.
Looking back in time, back in August, 2022, Burna Boy reached his milestone as he was the first African to sell out his shows in America. Wizkid also became the first African to perform at 80,000 capacity venue in United Kingdom stadium.
In reaction to Davido’s feat, fans of the singer have gone all out on social media to hail the OBO for such an immense feat. However, that wasn’t the only thing the OBO achieved over the weekend, as the news also broke that the singer has hit a personal best with Unavailable.
The track got its biggest single-day streams on Saturday, July 15, with 767k listens. This is the OBO’s highest stream within 24 hours to date.
