The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has refuted claims of an impending increase in the pump price of petrol.
In an interview, an executive of the association dismissed the widely circulated reports and assured Nigerians that the current selling price of the product would remain unchanged.
According to Alhaji Dele Tajudeen, the Chairman of IPMAN Southwest Zone, the association has no plans to increase the pump price of petrol to N700 per litre. He stated that the association is committed to ensuring a stable and affordable price of petrol for Nigerians.
Tajudeen further explained that the recent increase in the price of crude oil in the international market does not automatically translate to an increase in the pump price of petrol in Nigeria. He emphasized that IPMAN is working closely with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to ensure that the price of petrol remains stable.
Tajudeen also urged Nigerians to disregard any information suggesting an imminent increase in the pump price of petrol. He assured the public that IPMAN is focused on providing uninterrupted supply of petroleum products across the country at a reasonable price.
The refutation by IPMAN comes amidst concerns about the rising cost of living in Nigeria, with many Nigerians already struggling to cope with the current pump price of petrol.
