Disgraceful: DSS manhandles NCS boss, ignores court order, returns Emefiele to custody [Video]

A disgraceful video is currently trending on social media, captioning the moment the DSS manhandles NCS boss over the court order regarding Ex-CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele.

It so happened at the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos that despite the order of the court, the Department of State Services, DSS, returned the suspended governor of the Central Bank, CBN, Godwin Emefiele to custody.

The court has earlier granted bail to the embattled Emefiele after he pleaded not guilty to the two counts charge bordering on the alleged illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo, who granted the bail, ordered that Emefiele be remanded in prison until he fulfills his bail conditions.

However, officials of the secret police and their counterparts in the Nigerian Correctional Services slugged it out disgracefully over who would move Emefiele from the court.

However, after the encounter, officials of the DSS succeeded in taking the suspended governor of the apex bank away from the court.

@NjaCoach: Once one is arraigned in court, custody transfers to NCS unless the judge explicitly approves keeping the person in DSS custody due to national security. They charged him with illegal possession of gun w/o license. I doubt court granted DSS approval to keep him in custody while he's perfecting bail, as mere possession of gun w/o license does not rise to level of national security threat. Why is DSS a lawless organization?
