After defeating Alex Pereira, Israel Adesanya regained his Middleweight belt at the UFC 287 in Miami, becoming Champion for the second time. The New Zealnad-based MMA artist, who was born in Nigeria, returned to Auckland, New Zealand, for the first time after the victory.
However, in pleasant sight greeted him as he was treated to a performance of the Haka dance as a way of welcoming the champion.
The trending video saw Adesanya standing in admiration while he received a hero's welcome from his supporters, who went ahead to execute a traditional Maori ritual on the road on Thursday.
The Haka is a traditional Mori dance that is often done in a group setting at ceremonies and festivities. The purpose of the dance is to honour visitors and demonstrate the significance of the event.
