A Shariah court sitting at Filin Hockey area of the Kano metropolis has ordered famous TikTok skit maker, Murja Ibrahim Kunya to be remanded in a correctional center following various charges against her.
On Thursday, Murja was arraigned on charges that border on defamation of character, vulgarity, public nuisance, and breach of public peace.
Recall that two Tik Tokers, Aisha Najamu and Idris Maiwushirya, accused Murja of defaming their character, thereby filing a complaint against her. The complaint added the defamation charge to the count against the lady.
After Lamido Sorondinki, the prosecuting counsel read all the charges to the accused, she pleaded not guilty.
After that, Murja's lawyer, Yasir Musa, moved an application for her bail but was opposed by the prosecution counsel.
Abdullahi Halliru, the Judge, ordered that the accused person be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till February 16 for ruling on the bail application.
Recall that the police recently arrested Miss Murja in Kano on the order of a Shari'a court.
