Al-Nassr’s manager explained why his team crashed out of Saudi Super Cup even with Ronaldo on the pitch

Al-Nassr manager, Rudi Garcia said Cristiano Ronaldo’s miss from point-blank range cost his side the match against Al-Ittihad on Thursday during the Super Cup clash.

Ronaldo couldn’t rescue his side as they sunk 3-1, thanks to goals from Romarinho, Hamdallah, and Al-Shaqeeti.

The 37-year-old narrowly missed scoring with his head as he leapt high into the air but could not divert the ball at goal, only to be denied by Grohe in goal.

Al-Ittihad then immediately made it 2-0 just 28 seconds later.

“One of the things that changed the course of the match was Cristiano’s missed opportunity in the first half.

“I congratulate Al-Ittihad. They presented a much better first half than us, and we played a good second half, but unfortunately, we were not able to adjust the result.

“It’s true that we regret losing the Super Cup, but we are still the first in the league,” Garcia said.
