Hit-and-run: How Laolu Mudashiru, Vetiva Capital boss, died

News filtering in has it that Olaolu Mudashiru, a co-founder and deputy managing director of one of Nigeria’s top capital management companies, Vetiva Capital, just died.

Mudashiru, a businessman/investment banker, was said to be riding his bicycle with a group of cyclists when a car rammed into their bikes on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, and sped off, leaving them with severe injuries.

Our source gathered that Mr. Mudashiru and the other two bikers were taken by ambulance to the Lagoon Hospital on Bourdillon Road in Ikoyi, where Mudashiru later passed away from head injuries.

Mr. Mudashiru earned his medical degree from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and his MBA from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.

He was the late Air Commodore Gbolahan Mudashiru’s son, a former military official in charge of Lagos State.
