The Lagos State Police command yesterday released the Autopsy of the tragic death of Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of famous singer, Davido, and Chioma Rowland, his fiancée. The report temporarily ended the controversy and suspicion trailing the three-year-old’s death because the result confirmed that he died of drowning.

However, the two domestic staff detained by the police are still in custody; the result rested the suspicion that external forces could have influenced the tragic occurrence.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the report, said, “Autopsy has been concluded. It confirms the boy (Ifeanyi) drowned.”

Hundeyin said the two suspects detained in connection with the tragic incident are still being quizzed. “The two suspects are still with us. An autopsy has been concluded…”

On whether the principal suspects will be charged in court, the police spokesman said: “I don’t want to preempt that. The investigation is still ongoing.”

The young Adeleke died last Monday from drowning in a swimming pool at his father’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State.

Following the boy’s death, all members of the singer’s domestic staff were detained for questioning by the police. The workers were arrested early Tuesday morning.

The little boy, who turned three on October 20, was rushed to a hospital in the Lekki area of the state, where he was confirmed dead.

Davido and the mother were said to have travelled on Monday for a family gathering in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, and left Ifeanyi with his minders.
