For those who have been lamenting the absence of Actor and TV presenter Joseph Benjamin from the entertainment scene can now heave a sigh of relief. As it has been gathered that the actor said he took a break from the entertainment industry to explore other opportunities outside the country.

He added that his decision to delve into gospel music was because of his love for singing in the church. He told our source, Sunday Scoop, “I took an intentional break to explore and pursue growth opportunities beyond the parameters of our industry. Change and growth are imperative components for advancement in whatever one does. I never left; I just took a break to grow.”

Speaking on his experience working in the United States of America, he said, “Learning the dynamics of the American film and TV industry has helped me to grow significantly. The foundation or the core of who I am was built in the Nigerian film and TV industry. The experience I have acquired over the course of my career was beneficial to help my integration into the foreign industry.”

Benjamin also maintained that music has always been a part of him. Speaking about how fans have received his new song titled, ‘In Awe of You,’ he said, “Music has always been a part of me. I started doing music in the church, and I still sing in church. The reception to my song has been really great. There have been a lot of amazing testimonies.

“It has been great getting back into the creative space here (in Nigeria). The reception has been quite warm and humbling. It feels good to know that I was missed (smiles). There has been a lot of remarkable growth and advancement in the industry. The quality of content been churned out is quite impressive.”

On whether his good looks helped him to rise in the industry, Benjamin said, “One thing I can boldly say is that, ‘image is key, but character is everything.’ One can have good looks, but if one does not have the right character, that is a recipe for failure. One’s looks can get one into the room, but one’s character is what will keep one in there. That said, grace and the right character are the things that made me.”
