Balenciaga pulls the plug on Kanye West, ends 10-year collaboration

Master of Controversy, Kanye West might become a tag on Nollywood Times since he has featured more in the news than any celeb. The rapper is currently tumbling down the rabbit hole as his allies seem to be dropping like flies.

His infamous comments that he apologized for recently made Balenciaga a fashion label to pull the rug under him. His recent appearance on the Drink Champs podcast, after which he was accused of antisemitic and racist comments, has proved to be the final straw for the fashion label.

Kering, Balenciaga's parent company, recently published a statement communicating their decision: "Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist."

Following that announcement, the company has cancelled Kanye's fashion slated for this coming spring's Paris Fashion Week. They also removed the section dedicated to his Yeezy Balenciaga collection from their website.

This is a big blow for Kanye because the collaboration with the fashion giants dates back to almost 10 years ago when in 2014 Yeezy Season 1 was launched. The collaboration continued into the latest edition of Paris Fashion Week when it was seriously put to the test after the rapper made a controversial cameo appearance as a model sporting a "white lives matter" shirt.

Kanye West's self-inflicted sabotage means his deal with Adidas is also now under review. With his bizarre and quite frankly concerning outbursts, 'Ye' continues to significantly jeopardize his business ventures.
