According to news from Napoli, the club side of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian would be benched and miss some upcoming fixtures following a thigh injury he suffered.
The club disclosed this on Friday in a statement that the 23-year-old hurt his femoral bicep in his right thigh on Wednesday night.
Osimhen was reported to be unfit for Napoli’s opening match of the UEFA Champions League against Liverpool but made the starting lineup to the surprise of many. However, the Nigerian striker played for forty-three minutes in the match and even lost a penalty kick before he was pulled out of the game. He was substituted for Simeone, and the match ended in favour of Napoli 4-1.
Meanwhile, Osimhen would miss a good part of the club’s fixtures and would return after the international break in October. The effect of this is that who would not be playing in the Gli Azzurri’s Serie A match against Spezia.
In addition, he would not feature in Napoli’s UEFA Champions League clash against Scottish outfit Glasgow Rangers and the high-profile Serie A game against AC Milan.
