Following the increase in insecurity in the nation, the government of Jigawa State has ordered the closure of all schools across the state.
The development was confirmed to reporters in Dutse by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawan Yusuf. He said the main reason for the school's closure was due to a security threat.
Yusuf said schools were told to close on Wednesday morning after the state received an intelligence report about possible nationwide attacks on schools, especially in border states.
He asked parents of boarding secondary school students to withdraw their children.
