This is not the first time Amazon would be coming up with such an app. The first time they did this was in 2017 when they launched one that allows customers to preview the look of a piece of furniture in their space. From there, they extended it to beauty products where customers could try makeup on their faces to see how it would look.

It also used augmented reality on Amazon Salon so that walk-in clients could see how hairstyles and hair color would look on them before the stylist began. In addition to shoes, customers can also try the feature for glasses and Made for You custom-fit T-shirts. If you are in the US and/or Canada, you must scan the QR code on Amazon’s website to try the feature or type the "Virtual Try-On" within the Amazon iOS app to get there.
