On Tuesday, major websites experienced internet downtime due to the content delivery network (CDN) Cloudflare issues. Many major websites were affected, including Canva, Discord, NordVPN and so on. During the time, the affected web-based services displayed '500 Internal Server Error.' Those that used Ookla's DownDetector could not comprehend the scope of the outage with the app that tracks internet outages worldwide.

After some users reported the downtime on social media, Cloudflare swung into action by acknowledging it and implanting the fix immediately. Cloudflare released a status report on their website: a "critical PO incident" was declared at 06:34 AM UTC (12:04 PM IST) that disrupted Cloudflare's network in broad regions. According to Cloudflare, the occurrence affected all data plane services in its network and resulted in the 500 errors across all websites and services using the CDN. After several minutes precisely by 07:20 UCT (12:50 PM IST), the content delivery giant declared on its status website that it had implemented a fix and started monitoring the results.

The mass downtime led several people to complain on social media about it as they could not access different websites and services. Besides web-based services that were affected, games servers like that Minecraft and Valorant also went down due to the outage. As users ran to the DownDetector website, they could not access the site. Since Cloudflare has fixed the issue, the affected websites and services are gradually recovering from the outage.

For instance, Discord confirmed on its status website that its site has resumed working fine since 7.20 AM PDT (12:50 PM IST). Reports also have it that Discord, NordVPN, and Canva have all resumed working after the fix by Cloudflare.

Founded in 2010, Cloudflare, Inc., an American content delivery network and DDoS Mitigation Company, acts as a reverse proxy between a website's visitor and the Cloudflare customer's hosting provider. The company has its headquarters in San Francisco, California. The Cloudflare CDN is responsible for powering an extensive number of websites and services globally. Cloudflare is the market leader in the market of CDNs all over the world. It surpassed many of its competitors like Akamai and Amazon CloudFront. From the preceding, the domination could have been the cause of the mass outage.
