Rape Allegation: D'banj's former manager corroborates accuser's claims, says Seyitan Babatayo was paid $100 after hotel incident

Franklyn Amudo, who is the former manager of Oyebanjo Dapo also known as D'banj, has come out to corroborate the claims of Seyitan Babatayo, he lady who accused the music star of rape.

Amudo says one of D'banj's friends informed him that Seyitan Babatayo had been settled financially.

Babatayo had alleged that D'banj raped her in a Lagos hotel in December 2018, a case that has since drawn attention and scrutiny.

To corroborate Babatayo's claims, D'banj's former Amudo has come out to say that he was aware of the alleged incident.

Amudo in a chat with Goldmyne TV, narrated how he got to know of the alleged incident.

According to him, he was in Ghana with D'banj when Babatayo informed him of the alleged incident.

"The first question she asked was that 'were you aware that D'banj was coming to my room?' I said 'No' because first of all D'banj doesn't even know my room, and he didn't even lodge at Glee hotel," Amudo said in the interview.

"That was when she made the allegation that D'banj came into her room and had forcefully had carnal knowledge of her."

Amudo said he was unable to confront D'banj with the accusation because the music veteran was with his wife during the trip.

"She sent it via voice note. I can even play it for you. When she sent it, I was disturbed. I called Chizzy and told him about it and we spoke," Amudo also said.

Let's not forget that D'banj's wife was also on that trip with us and we were all staying at an Airbnb apartment and I could not bring up the topic because of that."

Disturbed by the allegations, Amudo said he contacted one of D'banj's close friends in Lagos, Aja Mohammed who then told him not to bother that Ms Babatayo had been settled with $100.

"I called Aja Mohammed in Lagos and told him about it asked for his take on the issue. He was like 'Franklyn don't bother yourself, it has been resolved' that he had given the girl involved $100," D'banj's former manager said.

"Then I called Seyitan to confirm about the $100 and ask why she is still talking about rape, she got angry.

"Seyitan in the same voice note said she was not trying to clout chase or do anything, that she just wanted me to know the kind of people I was working with and I said 'noted'. That was the end of our conversation."

Amudo's in the interview corroborated Babatayo's claims that D'banj raped while the musician has continued to deny the allegation.

In her now-deleted tweets where she first accused D'banj of rape, Babatayo made mention of the $100 which she said was was given to her by the musician through her friend for medication.

"And he gave my friend 100 dollars to give me to take medication," she tweeted.

There have been several events since Babatayo's accusations. She was allegedly detained by the police who were working on the orders of D'banj.

She has since filed a criminal complaint against D'banj while the Inspector of Police has called for an investigation into her alleged detention.

Amudo was also said to have been arrested by the police on D'banj's order although that has not been confirmed.
