The First 'Jackass' Movie in Over a Decade Will Hit Theaters in 2021

Stop & Shop better start hiding their grocery carts now because another Jackass film is in the works. Paramount recently announced a March 5, 2021, release date for the fourth installment of Jackass, based on the MTV stunt-prank reality series that launched in 2000.

The TV series was created Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and Jeff Tremaine, and the series itself was directed by Tremaine. The original cast included Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Ryan Dunn, Ehren McGhehey, Jason Wee Man Acuna, and Preston Lacy. Its unclear how many of the original cast members will return for the upcoming film. Alas, we know that Dunn, one of the leading original cast members, will not return. He passed in 2011 in a drunk driving accident.

The second film, Jackass Number Two premiered in 2006, followed by Jackass 3D in 2010, meaning it will have been over a decade since the last official Jackass film. That said, Knoxville did star in the comedy Bad Grandpa in 2013, which was billed as a Jackass presents production. Knoxville also wrote, produced, and starred in 2018's Action Point. Produced in a similar manner to Bad Grandpa, Action Point features Jackass-style stunts connected by an overarching fictional narrative.

Paramount has only announced the release date of the 4th Jackass film. Further details should come out in 2020.
