The sentence of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to 12 years imprisonment by Court has triggered reactions from Nigerians.
Kalu was sentenced to 12 years in prison by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Thursday, after being found guilty of 39 counts of N7.2 billion fraud and money laundering.
The Senator and former Governor of Abia State, was charged alongside Jones Udeogo, the state Commissioner for Finance during his tenure as the Governor, Daily Post reports.
Justice Mohammed Idris ruling on the matter, sentenced him to 12 years in prison.
The court also ordered that Slok Nig. Ltd., be shut down and its assets forfeited to the Federal Government.
