Mining Bitcoin on your Android Smartphone; is it still possible?

Bitcoin Mining

Mining of Bitcoin is one of the attractions for anyone who is actively involved in the cryptocurrency industry.

Many people involved in the space has found it a convenient way to fund their Bitcoin wallet. Mining involves the process is of getting Bitcoin, almost for free, hence it appeals to many crypto lovers.

For sometime now, Bitcoin mining has become very possible on Android, but Google, owner of Android, in July 2018 banned  Bitcoin mining apps from their Google Play store. Therefore, while it is possible to mine on Android, doing so isn’t as straightforward as it used to be.

Google said, “We don’t allow apps that mine cryptocurrency on devices” and in doing so protected a lot of people. The company's firm stance came as Bitcoin mining apps were being used by cyber crooks to gazump those new to the mining scene, but there are, of course, popular Bitcoin mining apps out there which can be installed by users when installation settings on an Android device are changed.

Below are some of the Android Apps that can be used to mine Bitcoin as reviewed:

Minergate

PocketMiner

NeoNeonMiner

However, it is paramount to add here that a lot of fraud are being perpetuated by cyber criminals using Bitcoin mining as a conduit. Therefore, be very wary and do your proper due diligence before embarking on the venture.
