- J.Lo shared a behind the scenes video on Youtube showing exactly how she trained and mastered her pole dance to play Ramona in Hustlers.
- J.Lo says it was one of the hardest things she's ever done physically, but it was worth it.
- Hustlers lead choreographer Johanna Sapakie taught J.Lo one-on-one in a pole dancing crash course in J.Lo's living room.
The countdown to J.Lo' s debut as the stripper Ramona in Hustlers is on. No doubt the superstar has been looking forward to this day just as much as fans. She worked her toned booty off to master her pole dancing routine, which was far from easy. J.Lo shared clips from her rigorous pole dancing sessions on Instagram and Youtube, so fans have all the receipts.
J.Lo worked with Hustlers lead choreographer Johanna Sapakie (nbd, she's performed with Cirque du Soleil). Johanna brought her own personal coated stripper pole for J.Lo to practice on in her home.
She captioned the Instagram clip: "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone... This was definitely one of the hardest things Ive ever done physically. But it was all worth it in the end. "
At the beginning of training, J.Lo strains to hold the pole. But by the end of day one, she's dabbling in inverted poses. "It's rough on your body," she says in the video. "It's real acrobatic." Throughout training J.Lo wears a crop top and shorts, so you can see every clearly defined muscle in her arms, torso, and legs firing.
While J.Lo says IRL strippers learn little by little and practice every night at the club, she didn't have that luxury. Instead, she had a crash course and focused on getting the mechanics down. "This is just as hard as anything I've ever learned." J.Lo is in good hands, her trainer Johanna makes the difficult moves look effortless and did a quick routine of her own.
Johanna gives J.Lo positive encouragement and hands on instruction to help her through the tough moves. Johanna says: "You're staying up there for like three minutes."
Kudos to J.Lo for her hustle. It's only a few more days until J.Lo's pole dance comes together on the big screen.
