Innovators unite at IoT Forum Africa 2019

This week saw a meeting of the minds on all things internet. The Internet of Things, to be precise.

IoT Forum Africa 2019 took place from 26 to 27 March at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, South Africa. Hailed as the premier African event on the Internet of things, the forum brought together more than 400 delegates united in their interest to see IoT become a bigger part of day to day life in Africa and not just build smart cities, but to help turn Africa into a smart continent.

The forum was kicked off and addressed by Deputy Minister Pinky Kekana in a keynote speech about the 4th Industrial Revolution and how people will have to learn to coexist with machines for the benefit of humanity.
This year’s forum garnered support from IoT specialists such as SqwidNet, SAP, Polymorph, Osiris Technical Systems, Liferay, and Macrocomm. IoT Forum Africa’s diamond sponsor was Sqwidnet who helped ensure that every attendee left with a better understanding of the trends and developments happening in the IoT space. SqwidNet and SAP also sponsored a raffle for delegates to win prizes
.
Day 1 was comprised of a panel of renowned speakers including; SqwidNET MD, Phathizwe Malinga, TransUnion CEO, Lee Naik, Rudeon Snell, Leonardo Leader for SAP Africa, Richard Barry, CEO at Polymorph and Johanna Juselius, Senior Advisor, EU Affairs, Helsinki-Uusimaa Region, just to mention a few.
