The Police Force in a statement signed by its Spokesman, Frank Mba, on Wednesday said the force would operate according to the laws and constitution of the country in the forthcoming elections.
ACP Mba promised that the Police Force will be apolitical and neutral in supervision of the exercise, Daily Post reports.
The statement read: “In the forthcoming General Election, we are assuring Nigerians that the Police will be apolitical and neutral.
“Our loyalty is to the constitution, laws of the federation and the people of Nigeria.
“We will provide a level playing field for all, whether politician, activist or CSO
“We are very much ready for the General Election, training of our personnel is ongoing, allowance and dry ration will be provided for policemen on election duty and adequate supervision/monitoring of our personnel on election duty will be done.”
