PDP has failed Abia State, says SDP gubernatorial candidate

SDP
The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP), in Abia State, Dr Blessing Nwagba, has said she is seeking the mandate of the people to change the narrative of Peoples Democratic Party’s 20-year misrule in the state.
Nwagba, who represents Aba North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, left the PDP after she lost the Aba North and South Federal Constituency seat to Uzor Azubuike.

She told journalists yesterday at her campaign office in Umuahia, Abia State capital, that she has garnered enough experience in politics and administration to take the state out of the doldrums.

She added that as a member of the House of Assembly for eight years and a board member of University Teaching Hospital, she was more qualified than those who have ruled the state.
Nwagba said the SDP would make things better in the state if given the votes in 2019, adding that Abia people deserved better treatment than to be owed salary, pensions and gratuity. She said PDP has no agenda for women adding that a party that has no place for women should not be supported.

Alluding to the heavy taxation on business people and artisans in the state, the governorship candidate remonstrated that “we cannot kill with taxes the same people we claim to support.”

We must pay workers on the 26 of every month. It is inhuman to owe people. Why does Abia have to be different,” she queried rhetorically, adding, “of all the neighbouring states, Abia is the worst in terms of infrastructure and other indices of governance.”
Nwagba said her total transformation plan would is built on three core pillars of economic revitalization, infrastructural transformation and social development.
According to her, Abia people deserved better than swimming out of market when it rains, borrowing to pay basic school fees, unemployment, among others and called on the people to vote SDP for an enduring transformation.
