Gov. Samuel Ortom |
Samuel Ortom, Governor of Benue State has finally announced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Gov. Ortom made the disclosure today Wednesday at a meeting with the elected local government chairmen and councilors, at the Government House Makurdi, after some hours following protests from Benue youths, who barred him from traveling to Abuja to attend the APC reconciliation meeting.
It could be recalled that for some months now, there had been speculations that the governor will return to the PDP as a result of his disagreement with leaders of APC in Benue and at the national level. This development has put an end to all the rumours.
