Lone Suicide Bomber Killed In Attempt To Detonate His Bomb In Maiduguri, Borno State(Viewer Discretion Advised)

The Bornu State Police Command has confirmed the death of a lone suicide bomber killed while tying to detonate his bomb strapped around his body, at Post office area in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Saturday night.

According to a statement by the spokesman of the Borno State Police Command, DSP Edet Okon, the lone suicide bomber detonated his bomb at about 7:15pm when he saw the massive police deployment at Oando petrol station in Post Office area of Maiduguri.

The source said the bomber was said to be heading towards Monday Market.

The Police spokesman Edet, said men of the Explosive Ordinance Deparment has been deployed to sanitize the scene and render the area safe.

He further stated that: “The Commissioner of Police Borno State, CP Damian Chukwu hereby urges residents of the state to go about their lawful activities without fear. He also assures members of the public of the readiness of the command to ensure a hitch free Ramadan celebration.”
