Thugs Unleash Terror At APC Congress In Ondo, Many Injured And Properties Destroyed.

According to media  reports today, the APC Congress in Ondo State was characterized by violence as the exercise ended in chaos as journalists and many party members were injured by thugs.

The thugs was alleged to have disrupted the factional APC State Congress in Akure. Notable personalities and Journalists were injured in the fracas. The injured people include among others; Sunkanmi Elujoba of Adaba FM, Damisi Ojo of The Nation, Bamigbola Gbolagunte of The Sun, Olumide Abudu of Radio Nigeria Positive FM. The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ ), who is also correspondent of Thisday newspaper, James Sowole was beaten mercilessly by the thugs.

The reports further stated that the thugs also did not spare Mr. Bola Ilori, the Commissioner for Regional Integration in Osun State as he was also attacked and injured.

Trouble started when the venue of the factional congress, BTO Hall in Akure, was invaded by suspected political thugs who chased the party members out with assorted weapons and destroyed properties inside the hall.
 
According to an eyewitness, the thugs came in 6 buses, and destroyed everything within their reach and vanished.
