Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has taken a legal step to protect her reputation, issuing a formal warning to bloggers, influencers and social media users over the publication of alleged defamatory content about her.
The actress made the development public on Thursday, November 5, 2026, when she shared a cease and desist notice on her Instagram page.
The document, dated the same day, was issued by Whitestone Solicitors and Consultancy on her behalf.
The legal notice was signed by the firm's representative, Tope Salami, Esq., and identified the actress by her full name, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi.
According to the lawyers, they had become aware of various statements and allegations being circulated about their client. They described the publications as false, misleading and unsupported, warning that such claims could negatively affect her reputation, professional image, personal integrity and goodwill.
The notice specifically addressed bloggers, content creators, influencers and other social media users who publish or distribute information about the actress.
Those involved were instructed to discontinue the publication, sharing or promotion of unverified claims concerning Toyin Abraham.
The lawyers also demanded that existing posts, videos, comments and other materials containing statements considered defamatory be taken down.
Beyond the removal of existing content, the legal representatives cautioned against using online platforms to promote harassment, intimidation, cyberbullying or attacks on the actress's reputation and business interests.
The firm further warned that individuals who disregard the notice and continue circulating defamatory material could face legal action. It noted that the actress reserves the right to pursue remedies available under applicable laws.
The lawyers also indicated that digital materials, including social media posts, videos and comments, could be retained as evidence should the matter proceed to court.
They urged members of the public to exercise caution when sharing information about their client, stressing the importance of verifying claims before making them public.
Toyin Abraham's decision to issue the warning comes amid renewed conversations about her relationship with fellow Nollywood actress Funke Akindele.
The discussion gained fresh attention in October following the circulation of an alleged private audio conversation involving Toyin Abraham and a TikTok user identified as Bisgold.
During the conversation, remarks reportedly made about Funke Akindele attracted criticism and generated widespread reactions across social media.
The recording also brought renewed attention to reports of strained relations between the two actresses, who have both established successful careers in the Nigerian film industry.
However, the complete context and authenticity of the audio were not independently established.
Although Toyin Abraham's legal notice did not specifically identify the alleged recording or the individuals responsible for the publications, its warning has drawn attention to the growing concerns surrounding online commentary about public figures.
