Nollywood actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh has challenged the widespread belief that people who become wealthy must have engaged in rituals or other questionable activities to acquire their riches.
The actress made this known while addressing members during a fellowship, where she encouraged people to change their perception of financially successful individuals and acknowledge that wealth can also come through legitimate hard work and perseverance.
According to Dikeh, it is wrong to assume that every wealthy man or woman has a questionable source of income. She maintained that some individuals have spent several years working towards financial stability before eventually experiencing the rewards of their efforts.
She said: “Not every rich man is a ritualist, and not every rich woman attains wealth through immoral means. Some people have worked hard for years before their efforts finally paid off.”
The actress explained that financial success does not happen overnight for everyone, noting that many people have invested considerable time, resources and energy into building their businesses and careers.
She further stressed that the sacrifices people make behind closed doors are often overlooked when others judge their financial status based solely on their possessions and lifestyles.
Dikeh's remarks highlight the tendency among some members of society to associate sudden or significant wealth with spiritual practices, fraud and other forms of misconduct.
She encouraged people to be more considerate when discussing the financial achievements of others, arguing that appearances alone cannot determine how someone acquired their wealth.
The actress also emphasised the importance of recognising the role of patience, discipline and consistency in achieving financial independence.
Her comments come amid recurring public conversations about unexplained wealth, particularly in a society where some people are often subjected to scrutiny whenever they acquire expensive properties, vehicles or other luxury possessions.
Dikeh's position offers a different perspective on the subject, reminding people that success can result from years of dedication rather than questionable activities.
The actress has also been increasingly associated with religious activities, sharing messages centred on faith and spirituality with her followers.
Through her latest remarks, she has urged people to avoid making sweeping judgments about wealthy individuals and instead recognise that legitimate opportunities, hard work and determination remain possible routes to financial success.
