Relationship therapist and social media influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has paid an emotional tribute to her nine-year-old son, Bryan, expressing the pain of losing him and admitting that she may never recover from the shock.
The influencer shared the tribute on her Instagram page on Sunday, recalling some of the gifts she had promised to buy for her son but was unable to give him before his death.
Blessing said she had now purchased the iPad and bicycle she had promised Bryan, describing the items as reminders of the plans they had made together.
“I will keep living in denial. I miss you. I bought the iPad I promised you, and also the bicycle,” she wrote.
“This is how I will forever remember you.”
In another part of her message, Blessing expressed her belief that her son was in heaven and promised to preserve his memory wherever life takes her.
She described Bryan as her guardian angel and said the pain of losing him remained difficult to accept.
“I know you are in Heaven, but I promise to carry your memories everywhere I go. I miss you, my baby; I will never recover from this shock. Rest on my guardian angel,” she added.
Her message has drawn attention to the grief she continues to experience following the death of her child.
Recounts son’s health challenges
The tribute comes days after Blessing spoke about Bryan’s death during an interview following her release from custody.
During the interview, she disclosed that her son had battled chronic asthma from birth and frequently needed medical attention.
According to her, Bryan’s condition required regular hospital visits, while his treatment included the use of inhalers to manage his breathing difficulties.
She also recalled that she received information about his health while she was in detention, where she was told that he was using two inhalers.
Blessing further revealed that she was informed that Bryan died in hospital at approximately 6:30 a.m. on a Monday.
Her account provided more details about the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death and the health challenges he had reportedly experienced over the years.
The influencer’s latest tribute also reflected the difficulty of dealing with the loss after spending time away from her family while in custody.
Speaks about son’s dream before his death
Blessing also recounted an unusual experience involving Bryan before his death on June 8.
She said her son had reportedly told some members of the family about a dream in which he saw himself dying.
According to her, Bryan shared the dream with his brother, Darell, her sister, Precious, and her father.
She said her sister prayed for the boy after hearing about the dream, but Bryan did not tell her about it.
“When my son was alive, he dreamt that he died. He told his brother Darell and my sister Precious, who prayed for him. He also told my Dad, but he never told me,” she said.
Her revelation formed part of the emotional account she gave during the interview, as she reflected on the events before her son’s death.
Blessing’s recollection suggested that she only learnt about the dream from other members of the family after the tragedy.
Released on bail after months in custody
The influencer’s tribute also comes against the backdrop of her recent legal troubles.
Blessing CEO was released on bail on October 24 after spending several months at Kirikiri Prison over separate fraud allegations.
Her release brought an end to her period in custody, during which she said she received updates about her son’s medical condition.
The circumstances surrounding her detention and her son’s death have both featured in her recent public statements.
However, her latest Instagram post focused on her personal loss, particularly the memories of the gifts she had intended to give Bryan and the future moments they would no longer share.
The iPad and bicycle she mentioned have become reminders of promises she had made while her son was alive.
Through her message, Blessing said she intended to keep his memory with her as she continues with life.
Her statement that she may never recover from the shock reflects the depth of her grief, as she mourns the death of her nine-year-old son.
