Nigerian filmmaker Oyinlola Opeyemi Efiwe is set to release her upcoming movie, Unburied, on October 15, 2026, with the production scheduled to premiere exclusively on Theoyinlolapictures YouTube channel.
The forthcoming film is described as a religious and suspenseful drama centred on a tense confrontation involving a prophet, a spiritually gifted individual and dark secrets from the past threatening to come to light.
Efiwe, who serves as both director and producer, is bringing the project to audiences through a digital release, making it accessible to viewers on the movie’s designated YouTube platform.
The film features Babatunde Aderinoye, Mayowa Mohammed, Lanre Adediwura and Bukola Ikuomola, among other members of the production team.
With its focus on faith, spiritual gifts and concealed truths, Unburied is positioned as a drama that combines religious themes with suspense, as the characters confront circumstances connected to events from the past.
A Story Of Faith And Hidden Secrets
At the centre of Unburied is a confrontation involving a prophet and an individual described as spiritually gifted. Their encounter forms part of a wider story in which secrets from the past threaten to emerge.
The movie’s premise places spiritual matters alongside the mystery surrounding the characters and their experiences. As the story unfolds, the confrontation is expected to bring underlying issues into focus, creating tension around what has remained hidden.
The description of the film suggests that the narrative will explore the consequences of concealed truths and the difficulties associated with confronting events that have not been fully addressed.
However, the filmmakers have not released further details about the individual characters, the circumstances that bring them together or the specific secrets at the heart of the story.
The title, Unburied, also reflects the central idea of something from the past coming back into view. Within the film’s stated premise, this is connected to the emergence of hidden truths and a confrontation shaped by religious and spiritual elements.
By combining these themes, the production seeks to present a story in which the characters must contend with more than the immediate events unfolding around them.
Babatunde Aderinoye, Mayowa Mohammed Star
The cast includes Babatunde Aderinoye, Mayowa Mohammed, Lanre Adediwura and Bukola Ikuomola.
Their participation brings together the performers for the forthcoming production, although the makers have not disclosed the specific roles assigned to each actor.
Efiwe’s involvement as both director and producer places her at the centre of the film’s creative direction and production. The project will be presented to audiences through her production channel, Theoyinlolapictures, on YouTube.
The combination of religious themes and suspense provides the foundation for the story, with the confrontation between a prophet and a spiritually gifted individual serving as a key element of the narrative.
While further information about the production remains limited, the announced premise establishes the movie’s focus on the relationship between spiritual experiences, past events and secrets awaiting exposure.
YouTube Premiere Set For October 15
Unburied is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, October 15, 2026, exclusively on Theoyinlolapictures YouTube channel.
The digital distribution strategy will allow viewers to watch the movie online through the designated platform rather than relying on a cinema release.
The October date also gives prospective viewers a specific timeline for the arrival of the religious suspense drama, which brings together its cast under Efiwe’s direction and production.
As the premiere approaches, the film’s central themes offer an introduction to the kind of story audiences can expect. Its premise combines faith, spiritual ability and the possibility that events from the past may have consequences in the present.
The confrontation at the heart of the story provides the basis for the suspense, while the promised emergence of dark secrets introduces an element of mystery.
Although the production team has yet to share a more detailed synopsis, Unburied is set to bring its blend of religious drama and suspense to YouTube audiences on October 15.
For viewers interested in Nigerian films that explore spiritual themes through dramatic storytelling, the upcoming release will offer an opportunity to follow Efiwe’s latest project when it becomes available on Theoyinlolapictures.
