Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya has recounted the difficult road to motherhood, revealing that she underwent five surgeries in 2022 while trying to conceive. The actress, who welcomed a baby girl with her husband in March, also explained why she remains committed to supporting her colleague, Iyabo Ojo, despite criticism surrounding their relationship.
Adesanya shared the experience during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, where she spoke about the physical and emotional challenges she faced before becoming a mother. She disclosed that the repeated surgical procedures became a source of concern for her doctor, who eventually advised her to stop undergoing further operations.
The actress said the number of surgeries she had within a single year was considerable, describing a period marked by persistent efforts to conceive.
“In 2022, I did five surgeries. I did so many surgeries my doctor told me Enough of this.”
Her account offers a glimpse into the difficulties she encountered during her journey to motherhood. Although she did not provide further details about the individual procedures, her remarks highlighted the extent of the medical interventions she underwent while trying to achieve her desire to have a child.

Adesanya recalled an incident involving Ojo and her former husband on February 14, 2014, saying the actress contacted him over the situation she was facing.
She explained that Ojo also confronted people she believed were making life difficult for her, an experience that influenced how she viewed their relationship.
“Iyabo who stood by me when I was trying to conceive, Iyabo who came to Akure to fight for me in my previous marriage. On the 14th of February 2014, on Valentine’s Day, Iyabo called my ex-husband. He called the people who were making my life difficult in Akure. She asked if they wanted to kill me. So why wouldn’t I do my responsibility when her grandson is celebrating his birthday? I am not one of the people bloggers would use their sad story to feed”.
The actress’s explanation centred on gratitude and the importance she places on remembering those who supported her during periods of personal difficulty.
Her comments also addressed the criticism that can arise when public figures show support for one another, particularly when their actions attract attention on social media and entertainment blogs.
For Adesanya, her relationship with Ojo is based on personal experiences that she believes should not be dismissed because of public opinion. She made it clear that the support she received during her fertility struggles and marital problems remains an important reason for her continued loyalty.
