Nollywood actor Yomi Fash-Lanso is preparing to bring lovers of classic Nigerian music and traditional fashion together as he announces the third edition of his entertainment event, FAAJI Lawa Xtra, scheduled for December 23, 2026, in Lagos.

The event will take place at Sinatra Place, Ladipo Oluwole, Ikeja, with organisers promising an evening centred on nostalgia, music, comedy and cultural expression.

This year's edition will be held under the theme, “African Attires Affairs,” placing traditional African clothing alongside the celebration of Nigeria's musical heritage.

FAAJI Lawa was established to reconnect audiences with songs that shaped earlier generations, particularly music from southwestern Nigeria.

Through the initiative, Yomi Fash-Lanso hopes to preserve the memories associated with older Nigerian songs while introducing their cultural and social significance to younger listeners.

According to the actor, the idea behind the gathering goes beyond entertainment, as he wants to create an atmosphere where people can share memories and enjoy music that has remained meaningful over the years.

Yomi Fash-Lanso also believes that songs from previous generations carry important messages capable of encouraging love, unity and positive relationships within society.

The event is therefore expected to provide an opportunity for younger Nigerians to discover the music enjoyed by their parents and grandparents.

The organisers are targeting a broad audience, including older music enthusiasts, young people interested in discovering classic sounds and Nigerians living abroad who may be returning home for the Christmas festivities.

The December gathering follows the second edition of FAAJI Lawa, which took place on July 17 at Uptown Lounge, Ikeja.

That event featured classic Nigerian music, comedy and other entertainment activities, helping to establish the gathering as a platform for celebrating the country's cultural and musical past.

With the introduction of FAAJI Lawa Xtra, the upcoming edition is expected to expand on the previous events by combining music with a stronger emphasis on fashion.

The African-themed dress code is intended to encourage guests to showcase traditional outfits while enjoying an evening dedicated to Nigerian entertainment and heritage.

Yomi Fash-Lanso has maintained a presence in the Nigerian film industry through appearances in numerous Yoruba and English-language productions.

His contributions to Yoruba cinema have also earned him recognition, including nominations at the City People Entertainment Awards.

The actor's latest initiative reflects an effort to extend his creative activities beyond the screen by creating an entertainment platform that brings different generations together.

As preparations continue for the December 23 event, FAAJI Lawa Xtra is expected to offer attendees an opportunity to reconnect with familiar songs, appreciate African fashion and experience the nostalgic atmosphere associated with older Nigerian music.

The event will also take place during the festive period, when many Nigerians gather with friends and family to celebrate, potentially attracting music lovers from different parts of the country and the diaspora.
