Nollywood has released another romantic comedy, Parents by Accident, featuring actors Timini Egbuson, Miwa Olorunfemi, popularly known as Miwa Bliss, Ogechukwu Anasor and Chiamaka Victoria Nwokeukwu.
The 2026 movie premiered on Thursday, October 29, on Chinedu Benjamin TV’s YouTube channel, giving viewers access to the production through the digital platform.
The film centres on two former lovers whose unexpected reunion takes an unusual turn when they find themselves responsible for raising a child together. What begins as an uncomfortable situation gradually develops into a series of amusing encounters, emotional moments and unexpected romantic possibilities.
With a storyline built around parenthood, unresolved feelings and second chances, Parents by Accident explores what happens when two people who once shared a romantic relationship are forced to work together under circumstances neither of them anticipated.
The production brings together a cast of actors from different backgrounds in the Nigerian entertainment industry, with Timini Egbuson and Miwa Bliss taking prominent roles.
A complicated reunion
At the heart of Parents by Accident is the relationship between two former lovers whose past disagreements and unresolved emotions make their new situation even more complicated.
Having gone their separate ways, the pair unexpectedly find themselves sharing the responsibility of raising a child. Their new circumstances require them to put aside their differences and navigate the demands of parenthood.
However, adjusting to their unexpected roles as co-parents does not happen without difficulties.
From changing diapers to handling the everyday responsibilities that come with caring for a child, the former lovers are confronted with situations that challenge their patience and force them to reconsider their relationship.
Their different approaches to parenting also create opportunities for comic moments, as they struggle to find common ground while dealing with responsibilities they did not plan for.
Beyond the humour, the story explores how shared experiences can change people’s perceptions of one another. As the characters spend more time together, old emotions begin to resurface, creating room for a possible romantic connection.
The film’s central storyline also touches on forgiveness, emotional maturity and the possibility of finding love in unexpected circumstances.
Timini Egbuson leads the cast
The movie features Timini Egbuson, one of Nollywood’s recognisable contemporary actors, alongside Miwa Olorunfemi, who is also known as Miwa Bliss.
Egbuson has appeared in several Nigerian film and television productions, building a following through his performances in romantic dramas and other genres.
Miwa Bliss has equally established a presence in the entertainment industry through her acting projects, while her participation in the production places her alongside Egbuson in a story driven by romance and comedy.
Other actors featured in the movie include Ogechukwu Anasor and Chiamaka Victoria Nwokeukwu, alongside additional cast members.
The combination of the performers provides the film with an ensemble through which its themes of relationships, family responsibilities and unexpected romance are explored.
Where to watch ‘Parents by Accident’
Parents by Accident was released on October 29, 2026, and is available on the Chinedu Benjamin TV YouTube channel.
The digital premiere gives movie lovers the opportunity to watch the production online without attending a cinema screening.
The release also adds to the growing number of Nollywood films making their debut through YouTube channels, as filmmakers and distributors continue to use digital platforms to reach audiences.
For viewers interested in romantic comedies centred on complicated relationships and family life, the film offers a story that combines the challenges of unexpected parenthood with the possibility of rekindling an old romance.
With its central characters forced to navigate co-parenting after a difficult romantic history, Parents by Accident presents a humorous take on how life can bring former lovers together in ways they never imagined.
