Nollywood actor Kunle Remi is set to feature in Toyin Abraham’s forthcoming movie, Bestie, adding another prominent name to the cast ahead of its planned cinema release in December.
Abraham announced Remi’s involvement on Thursday through her Instagram page, expressing excitement about the actor’s guest appearance.
She also reminded fans that the film would arrive in cinemas nationwide on December 16, 2026, with advance ticket sales scheduled to begin on November 1.
The filmmaker has continued to reveal members of the cast as anticipation builds for the production. Although details about the storyline remain largely undisclosed, the growing list of familiar faces has attracted attention from Nollywood enthusiasts.
Veteran actors Pete Edochie and Sola Sobowale are among the confirmed cast members. Edochie will portray Papa Ngozi, while Sobowale is set to play Mama Ngozi.
Other actors appearing in the film include Maurice Sam as Peter, Yakubu Mohammed as Hassan and comedian Lizzy Jay as Kaffy. Imisi, winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, will also feature as Suzy Baby.
Rapper Reminisce, whose real name is Remilekun Khalid Safaru, is another member of the cast. He will play Kazeem, popularly known as Alaga Big Star. Abraham previously disclosed that persuading him to return to acting took six months following his appearance in King of Boys.
The announcement of Bestie came in September, with Abraham keeping most details about the project under wraps.
The movie follows the success of her previous cinema release, Oversabi Aunty, which reportedly surpassed N1 billion at the Nigerian box office.
Her achievement also earned her a Box Office Champion Award from the National Film and Video Censors Board.
Bestie continues Abraham’s tradition of releasing cinema projects during the festive season. Her previous December releases include Ijakumo: The Born Again Stripper in 2022, Malaika in 2023 and Alakada: Bad and Boujee in 2024.
The film is scheduled to open five days after Funke Akindele’s The Four: No One Fights Alone, setting the stage for another competitive December period for Nollywood cinema releases.
