A disagreement over a business promotion has put Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia at the centre of an allegation by a hair vendor who claims that a paid advertisement for her wig business was taken down after she declined to give the actress a free wig.

According to the vendor, she paid Etinosa ₦700,000 to advertise her brand on social media. The arrangement was meant to give the business more visibility and help attract potential customers interested in buying wigs.

However, the vendor alleged that things took an unexpected turn after the actress reportedly contacted her privately to request a free wig.

The vendor said she was not comfortable with the request because, as far as she was concerned, their agreement was strictly for a paid promotional service. She maintained that offering an additional wig as a gift was never included in the deal they had made.

She reportedly became more concerned when the first promotional video, which Etinosa had posted on her social media page, was allegedly deleted after she turned down the request.

Explaining her complaint, the vendor said, “I paid Etinosa ₦700k to promote my business, but she deleted my video after I refused to give her a free wig”.

For the business owner, the issue appears to be about what she believes was agreed upon before the promotion took place. Having paid a substantial amount for advertising, she expected the promotional content to remain available as agreed, rather than being removed following a disagreement over an additional request.

The allegation has also brought attention to the expectations that can arise when businesses work with celebrities and influencers. While some promotional arrangements may include free products alongside payment, such terms are generally best discussed and agreed upon before the partnership begins.

In this case, the vendor claims that a free wig was not part of the original arrangement and that her refusal was followed by the removal of the advertisement. However, the circumstances surrounding the alleged request and the deletion of the video have not been independently established.

As of the time of writing, Etinosa Idemudia is yet to publicly give her account of the incident or respond to the vendor's allegations.

Until Etinosa addresses the matter and shares her side of the story, the claims remain the vendor’s account of what happened between them.
