Nollywood actress Bimbo Success has issued a warning to Desola Afod, the estranged wife of actor Kunle Afod, following a disagreement over how colleagues address one another in the Yoruba movie industry. The exchange followed Desola’s social media complaint that some actors and actresses showed her disrespect by addressing her by her first name despite her age.

Desola had earlier shared a video in which she criticised unnamed colleagues for the way they spoke to her. She argued that she was older than many of them and expected to be addressed with the respect she believed her age deserved.

Her comments drew a response from Bimbo, who accused some practitioners of remaining silent out of consideration for Kunle Afod. The actress also questioned whether Desola’s remarks were directed at her, saying she only learnt that she was allegedly being referenced after people sent her the video.

In her response, Bimbo challenged Desola to mention her name directly rather than referring to unnamed individuals. She also warned that she would not remain silent if she believed she was being targeted.

Bimbo Accuses Colleagues Of Protecting Afod’s Reputation

Reacting to the controversy in a video, Bimbo suggested that Desola benefited from the respect colleagues extended to her estranged husband because of his standing in the film industry.

She argued that filmmakers had exercised restraint towards Desola out of consideration for Kunle, whom she described as the person responsible for the fame his former wife enjoyed.

“The theatre industry- if they were born well- who are you? It’s not that the filmmakers are imbecÄ«les, but they are respecting and considering Afod, which is why they have kept quiet. They are giving you the same respect they give Afod, who gave you the fame you enjoy today. Your husband is also a filmmaker. Desola, don’t come for me because I will come for you.”

Bimbo’s comments escalated the disagreement, shifting attention from Desola’s original complaint about age and respect to questions about personal relationships and professional standing within the Yoruba film industry.

She also challenged Desola over the alleged reference to her, insisting that she would have preferred a direct mention rather than being left to interpret the video through information sent by other people.

Actress Questions Alleged Reference To Her

Bimbo said she initially did not know that Desola’s remarks were allegedly directed at her until people contacted her after the video was published.

She questioned why her name was not mentioned if she was the intended subject of the complaint. She also made a sarcastic remark about the person who allegedly identified her as the person Desola was referring to.

“Why don’t you mention my name instead of saying some people? I definitely didn’t know I was the one you were referring to until some people sent it to me after you posted it. The person wrote Bimbo Success. Whoever wrote that, their lineage is màd. Maybe it was the unfortunate person who gave birth to me or someone present when I was born. Do you have my birth certificate so you can see when I was born?”

The actress’s response highlighted the disagreement over age, with Desola’s initial complaint suggesting that seniority should influence how colleagues address one another.

However, Bimbo’s remarks questioned how Desola’s age could be established and why the actress believed the complaint was aimed at her without an explicit mention.

The available account does not establish whether Desola named Bimbo in any subsequent response or clarified whom she intended to address in her earlier video.

Bimbo Issues Fresh Warning

Bimbo further warned Desola against involving her in the dispute, saying she usually avoided making videos about disagreements but would defend herself if provoked.

She maintained that she had chosen to overlook certain matters because people understood their individual paths, but said she would respond if Desola continued to target her.

“Desola, be careful. I don’t do videos; I overlook some things because everyone knows where they are heading. Don’t push me, because if you do, I will fight back. Desola Afod, if you come for me, I am coming for you”.

The warning underscored the increasingly personal tone of the exchange, with Bimbo making clear that she was prepared to respond publicly if she felt the situation continued.

The disagreement has drawn attention to tensions among some members of the Yoruba movie industry, particularly over age, respect and professional relationships.

While Desola’s initial video focused on how unnamed colleagues addressed her, Bimbo’s reaction introduced a separate dispute over whether she had been targeted and the role Kunle Afod’s reputation allegedly played in how others treated his estranged wife.
