Nigerian comedian and content creator KieKie has encouraged women to adopt a softer approach in their relationships, urging them to allow their partners to take responsibility for certain things instead of insisting on doing everything themselves.
The entertainer shared the advice in a video, where she questioned the expectations some women have of men and challenged them to consider whether they also demonstrate the qualities they seek in their partners.
According to KieKie, women who desire thoughtful and attentive men should also examine their own behaviour and determine whether they bring similar consideration and effort into their relationships.
She advised women to embrace gentleness, exercise patience and avoid taking control of every situation, suggesting that allowing men to handle some responsibilities could encourage them to show care and affection.
Using Christmas preparations as an example, KieKie wondered why some women would make arrangements for celebrations, including purchasing a ram, when their partners were available to take charge.
She argued that women should learn to step back occasionally and give their partners opportunities to demonstrate their willingness to provide and make thoughtful decisions.
KieKie also introduced what she described as the “puppy face” approach, encouraging women to use affectionate expressions and a gentle disposition when seeking attention or assistance from their partners.
Drawing a comparison with babies, she suggested that women could receive affection by adopting a softer attitude rather than approaching every situation with firmness or a need to remain in control.
The content creator maintained that being gentle was an important part of her message, urging women to be deliberate about how they present themselves and interact with their partners.
She also questioned the frequent demand for intentional men, suggesting that women should reflect on whether they themselves act intentionally in their relationships.
KieKie said women should not focus exclusively on what they expect from a partner without considering the effort, understanding and consideration they contribute to the relationship.
Her comments come amid ongoing conversations about gender roles, relationship expectations and the meaning of softness in modern relationships.
While some people associate these ideas with traditional expectations of women, others view them as personal choices that depend on the dynamics between partners.
KieKie explained that her advice was influenced by her own positive experiences in relationships. She said she wanted to offer women a different perspective, particularly in contrast to the negative relationship advice that often circulates online.
Her message centred on the idea that women could approach relationships differently by choosing their battles, showing affection and allowing their partners to contribute rather than feeling responsible for managing every detail.
