Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, professionally known as Asake, has submitted four entries for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, with his album M$NEY and collaborations with Wizkid and DJ Snake featuring among the submissions.

The entries were announced by his record label, Giran Republik, and cover several categories at the prestigious music awards, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best African Music Performance.

Asake’s submissions span album, song and recording categories, reflecting the range of his recent musical projects and collaborations with other artistes.

His album, M$NEY, has been entered for consideration in two categories: Album of the Year and Best Global Music Album.

The singer’s collaboration with Wizkid, Jogodo, has also been submitted for Best African Music Performance, a category in which Asake has previously received nominations.

Another track, Gratitude, has been entered in three categories: Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.

Meanwhile, Worship, his collaboration with French DJ and record producer DJ Snake, is being considered in the Best Dance Pop Recording category.

The submissions provide Asake with another opportunity to earn recognition from the Recording Academy, having received two Grammy nominations in previous years.

The 69th Grammy Awards will follow a voting process that begins with the first round of voting scheduled to run from October 12 to 22. The nominees are expected to be announced on November 16, according to the Recording Academy.

The main ceremony is scheduled for February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles, United States.

Asake’s previous Grammy recognition began in 2024 when Amapiano, his collaboration with Nigerian rapper Olamide, earned a nomination in the Best African Music Performance category.

He received another nomination in the same category in 2025 for MMS, his joint effort with fellow Nigerian singer Wizkid.

Despite securing nominations in consecutive years, Asake did not win either award. His latest submissions therefore represent another opportunity to compete for recognition at the annual ceremony.

The singer has continued to build his career within Nigeria’s music industry since gaining wider attention with his song Lady in 2020. The track helped introduce his sound to a broader audience and contributed to the growth of his profile.

In February 2022, Asake joined YBNL Nation, the record label owned by Olamide. The move marked an important stage in his career, with the label providing a platform for his subsequent rise in the Nigerian music scene.

He later established his own record label, Giran Republik, in February 2025, signalling his departure from YBNL Nation.

The development marked a new chapter in his professional journey, with the singer moving towards operating under his own label after years associated with Olamide’s music outfit.

Giran Republik subsequently announced the Grammy submissions involving M$NEY and the singer’s collaborations with other artistes.

The entries cover different areas of the awards, from album recognition to recording, songwriting, African music and dance-pop categories. However, submission for consideration does not automatically guarantee a nomination.

The Recording Academy’s voting process will determine which entries advance to the final nominations, with the announcement scheduled for November 16.

For Asake, the outcome will determine whether any of his latest submissions earn him a place among the nominees for the 69th Grammy Awards.

The ceremony is expected to take place in Los Angeles on February 7, 2027, when winners across the various categories will be announced.
