A new Nollywood family drama, A Tale of Silent Sisters, has premiered online, bringing a story of sisterhood, survival, difficult choices and the search for a better life to audiences.
The film was released on October 30, 2026, and is available to watch on digital platforms, including the Uchenna Mbunabo TV YouTube channel.
Featuring Angel Unigwe, David Ezekiel, Chike Daniels and Patience Ujah, among other actors, the production explores the challenges faced by two sisters following the death of their parents.
The story centres on the relationship between the siblings as they struggle to overcome their difficult circumstances and find a way to build a more promising future.
A story of sisterhood and survival
At the heart of A Tale of Silent Sisters are Vero and Nwakaego, two sisters who are left to depend on each other after losing their parents.
With little support and limited opportunities, the siblings must confront the realities of life without the guidance and protection they once had.
Vero, the older sister, is portrayed as outspoken, fiercely protective and determined to ensure that they survive. Faced with difficult circumstances, she is willing to make sacrifices and take drastic steps to keep herself and her younger sister afloat.
Her approach to life is shaped by the responsibility of looking after Nwakaego, making her particularly determined to protect the family bond they have left.
Nwakaego, on the other hand, has ambitions that go beyond their immediate struggle for survival. The younger sister dreams of a better life and hopes to escape the circumstances that have limited their opportunities.
Although they share the same difficult background, their different outlooks create an important part of the story, as both sisters must navigate their individual expectations while depending on each other.
A fresh start brings unexpected challenges
Their situation appears to take a positive turn when an old friend offers them an opportunity to begin again in Lagos.
For the sisters, the offer represents a chance to leave their struggles behind and pursue the future they have always wanted.
However, what initially seems like an opportunity for a fresh start gradually exposes them to deeper emotional challenges.
As they attempt to adjust to their new circumstances, they are confronted with family secrets and experiences that test their relationship.
The film follows their journey as they deal with the consequences of their decisions and discover that escaping hardship does not necessarily mean leaving every problem behind.
Through the experiences of Vero and Nwakaego, the drama examines the pressures that can come with family responsibilities, personal ambitions and the desire to achieve a better life.
It also places emphasis on the strength of the relationship between siblings, particularly when they have to depend on one another during difficult periods.
Cast and production details
The film features a cast led by Angel Unigwe and David Ezekiel, alongside Chike Daniels and Patience Ujah.
Other actors in the production include Bassey Ekpo Bassey and Heavenly Dera.
Angel Unigwe’s involvement adds to the film’s appeal, with the actress appearing in a story that places family relationships and emotional struggles at the centre of its narrative.
The combination of established and emerging performers brings together different acting talents for the family drama.
Although A Tale of Silent Sisters is presented as an emotional Nollywood production, its central themes are familiar to audiences who enjoy stories about family bonds, personal sacrifices, hardship and the pursuit of a better future.
