Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola is currently dealing with a frustrating setback that has affected her ability to release new content on her YouTube platform, Wumi Toriola TV.
The actress explained that she had made attempts to continue creating content but eventually deleted some of the videos she recorded. She said the difficulty has nothing to do with her being away on holiday, as some people may have assumed.
According to Toriola, the problem is connected to technical issues affecting the channel, which she has built over time with the support of her audience.
“I don’t know how to start. I have done a couple of videos, but I ended up deleting them. Some of you are asking if it’s because I am on holiday. I haven’t uploaded to Wumi Toriola TV because of the fanbase, relationship, and bond I built with them. Unfortunately, we can’t post because we are having technical issues.
“I have been strong for the longest, and I’ve been trying to keep this together, thinking I could resolve it myself; I am not going to cry. The same channel we built together with love is undergoing serious technical issues.
“I am not going to blame anybody; I am not going to blackmail anyone. I won’t say someone reported my page or make excuses; I will say we are having technical issues.
“Y’all know how hard I built that channel. I have cried in private, and I promise not to cry in public. I am not going to cry; it’s taking a toll on me, but I decided to share it with y’all.”
Toriola made it clear that she does not intend to turn the problem into a blame game. Rather than accuse anyone of being responsible or suggest that her page was deliberately targeted, she chose to describe the situation as a technical problem.
For the actress, the setback is particularly difficult because of the amount of work that has gone into developing the channel and maintaining a connection with its audience. Her comments also showed that she had initially hoped to resolve the matter without discussing it publicly.
She said she had remained strong while trying to find a solution on her own, even as the situation continued to affect her personally.
The actress also addressed the emotional side of the experience, admitting that she had cried privately but did not want to break down publicly. Despite the frustration, she maintained that she was trying to stay composed while dealing with the problem.
Toriola’s explanation also puts to rest speculation that her absence from the platform is simply because she is taking a break or enjoying a holiday. She stated that the technical difficulties are the reason she has been unable to post as she normally would.
The actress has continued to emphasise the importance of the channel and the relationship she has built with those who follow her work there. For now, however, the technical issues have prevented her from maintaining her usual content schedule.
Rather than create accusations around the situation, Toriola has chosen to keep her explanation simple: the platform is experiencing serious technical problems, and she is working through the frustration that has come with it.
