“Staying Too Long In One House Can Affect You, Change The House” — Prophetess Warns

A Nigerian prophetess has advised people who have spent many years renting the same apartment to consider changing their environment, particularly when owning a home of their own has not yet become possible.

Speaking to members of her congregation, the prophetess suggested that remaining in one rented apartment for eight or nine years may be long enough to start considering a move. Her advice was not necessarily about leaving a rented property simply because of the length of time, but about paying attention to how a person’s circumstances may change while living in the same environment.

She explained that some people may continue renting the same apartment for years while hoping to eventually build or buy their own home. However, when that plan is taking longer than expected, she believes moving to another rented apartment could be worth considering.

The prophetess said: “As long as you’re a tenant in somebody’s apartment, 8 to 9 years is okay to look for another house if you’re not able to build your own. Where you live for a long time can be a problem with what you’re passing through.”

Her comments placed emphasis on the relationship between a person’s living environment and the experiences they may be going through. For those who have remained in the same apartment for a significant part of their lives, she appeared to be encouraging them to take a fresh look at their surroundings rather than simply staying because they had become comfortable there.

Renting a home for several years is common, particularly for people who are still working towards home ownership. Financial circumstances, family responsibilities and the rising cost of housing can all make it difficult for tenants to move into homes they own. For some, remaining in the same apartment may also be a practical choice when the rent is manageable and the location is convenient.

The prophetess, however, encouraged her congregation to consider a change of environment when they are unable to build their own homes after spending years in the same rented apartment. Her statement suggests that moving to another house could sometimes be considered as part of making a fresh start.

She also connected a person’s place of residence with what they may be experiencing in life, saying that staying in one location for too long could potentially be a problem.

Ultimately, her advice was directed at tenants who have spent between eight and nine years in the same rented apartment without being able to build their own homes. Rather than treating the period as an absolute rule for everyone, her comments encouraged people to examine their circumstances and consider whether a change of environment may be appropriate for them.
