Real Warri Pikin Apologises After Timaya’s Onstage Moment

Real Warri Pikin has apologised after finding herself at the centre of an unexpected moment with singer Timaya during a recent performance.

The comedian and actress explained that she was not part of any planned arrangement before she came out during Timaya’s performance. According to her, she was backstage enjoying the music when Timaya called for a lady to join him outside.

Being someone who usually gets carried away by good music and an exciting atmosphere, Real Warri Pikin said she quickly made her way to the stage without knowing exactly what Timaya had in mind

She later realised that the singer wanted her to participate in a particular part of his performance, which left her surprised.

Trying to explain her side of the story, she said she had no idea that Timaya’s performance of Ukwu involved bringing a woman out and carrying her during the song.

She said:

“Nigerians, please take it easy on me, I’m really sorry. I take full responsibility for my actions. Na me put myself for this one o. Na me use my hand put myself for this one.

“I no know say if Timaya wan perform that him song, Ukwu, him must bring woman come out outside make him carry am. I no know. I dey backstage dey vibe when e dey perform when he say make a lady come out. And you know me na. When it comes to vibe, anything I dey. Na him I rush come outside. Na me put myself for this one.

“Na him e say I go jump for him body. I shock. I say no oo. If you watch the full video, you go see where I dey beg am. I was very reluctant. Him say no oo. Na you come outside o. No spoil my performance. Na him I do am o. Make una no vex for me abeg.

“Like this now Ikechukwu dey vex for me and you know say I dey America, e too far..”

From her explanation, the situation unfolded quickly after she stepped out to join Timaya. She also pointed out that she was initially reluctant when the singer told her what he wanted her to do.

Real Warri Pikin stressed that she did not walk onto the stage with the intention of creating the particular moment that later got people talking. She described herself as someone who naturally joins in whenever there is a lively atmosphere, which was what happened while she was backstage watching Timaya perform.

Her apology was directed at Nigerians who may have misunderstood the situation or felt uncomfortable with what happened. Rather than deny her involvement, she accepted responsibility for going on stage in the first place, repeatedly admitting that she had put herself in the situation.

The actress also brought up her husband, Ikechukwu, joking about his reaction and the fact that she is currently in America while he is far away.

For Real Warri Pikin, the explanation was simple: she went out because she was enjoying the performance, but she did not know beforehand how the interaction with Timaya would play out.
