Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has been recognised with two social impact honours following her decision to channel the earnings from her film into supporting children’s education.
The actress received a Social Impact Award and a Lifetime Social Impact recognition from Israel Tribune and 90210 Enterprise.
The honours recognise her efforts to use her work in the entertainment industry to support children living in underserved communities.
Jalade-Ekeinde had earlier announced that she would donate the entire producer’s earnings from her movie, “Mother’s Love,” towards educational opportunities for children in disadvantaged communities. Makoko, a Lagos community featured in the film, was among the communities that inspired the
initiative.
Reflecting on the decision, the actress said she initially did not realise how widely the gesture would resonate with people. She described the initiative as an act of obedience that has continued to inspire her personally.
According to Jalade-Ekeinde, the recognition has further encouraged her to combine her career with efforts to contribute positively to society.
Expressing gratitude for the honours, she said she was thankful for the opportunity to pursue her passion while also giving back to others.
The latest recognition adds to the actress’s achievements beyond acting. Over the years, she has worked across different areas of the entertainment industry, including producing, while also using her public platform to draw attention to social causes.
