Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has provided an update on the burial arrangements for his late colleague, Temitope Osoba, revealing that an autopsy has been conducted on her remains.

Afod shared the update in a video posted online while responding to the numerous questions and concerns from members of the public who have been following developments surrounding the actress’ death.

The actor expressed appreciation to those who had shown concern and continued to support the late actress’ family during the difficult period.

He disclosed that the autopsy had been completed and confirmed that Osoba would now be laid to rest on September 10, 2026.

Afod said, “To everybody that has been asking about Tope Osoba. First of all, I will say a big thank you to everybody for their concerns and support. They have done an autopsy on her body, and she will be laid to rest on September 10th.”

Family Announces New Burial Arrangements

The development was also confirmed by Temitope Osoba’s family in a fresh announcement shared on social media.

According to the family, the actress’ remains will leave the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OSUTH), Sagamu, at 9am on September 10.

Her burial service will then take place at 10am at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Market, Iperu, Remo, Ogun State.

The family stated that interment would follow immediately after the service at Iperu Remo Cemetery.

Mourners have also been directed to observe a strict white dress code for the burial.

The new arrangements come weeks after Osoba’s death was announced on August 5, 2026.

Controversy Surrounds Cause Of Death

Since the actress’ passing, questions have continued to surround the circumstances of her death, particularly because of conflicting claims about what happened in the final days of her life.

Actor Alesh Sanni previously sought to clarify reports surrounding her health, stating that Osoba did not die from cancer. He urged members of the public to respect the family’s grief and allow them to mourn the actress in the manner they choose.

Speaking at Osoba’s candlelight service, actress Foluke Daramola also addressed the cancer reports. She said the breast lump previously associated with the actress had been removed and maintained that cancer was not the cause of her death.

Daramola added that something else had caused Osoba’s death and revealed that an investigation was ongoing.

Fiancé Raises Questions

Osoba’s fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, had earlier made claims about the circumstances surrounding her death.

He alleged that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State, while also dismissing several claims surrounding her final days, including allegations that she had been poisoned or maltreated before her death.

Shortly before her death, Osoba was also said to have left a voice note in which she called on a woman identified as Prophetess Kehinde Osoba to take responsibility for her remains and ensure that she received a befitting burial.

The circumstances surrounding the voice note and the actress’ death subsequently generated discussions among colleagues and members of the public.

Yomi Fabiyi Calls For Investigation

Actor Yomi Fabiyi had previously called for the postponement of Osoba’s burial amid the controversy.

Fabiyi argued that there were marks and traces surrounding the actress’ death that required proper investigation, stressing that the family and relevant authorities should not rush to bury her before questions surrounding her death were addressed.

The completion of the autopsy now comes ahead of the September 10 burial.

Osoba’s Battle With Cancer

Before her death, Temitope Osoba had publicly spoken about her battle with cancer during an interview with Oyinmomo TV last year.

The actress revealed that doctors had told her that she might not be able to conceive for five years because of the medications she was taking during her treatment.

She said the news was particularly difficult for her because she was already 38 at the time and feared that she would have to wait until her 40s before she could have children.

Her revelation offered the public insight into some of the personal challenges she faced during her health battle.

With the autopsy now reportedly completed and the family confirming September 10 as the new burial date, Osoba’s loved ones, colleagues and supporters are expected to gather in Iperu Remo to bid the actress a final farewell.
