Kamo’s Mother Defends Funke Akindele, Tells Critics To Stop Poke-Nosing In His Son's Affair With Her

Kamo State’s mother has asked people to stop interfering in the relationship between her son and actress Funke Akindele, saying the actress has remained a strong source of support for him.

Speaking during a podcast appearance, she explained that Kamo was already known and had built a following before he got the opportunity to work on one of Funke Akindele’s movie projects. According to her, that opportunity became an important turning point in his career.

She said Kamo was brought onto Funke’s set because the production team was looking for people who were suitable for different roles. While he already had people who followed and appreciated his work, she believes working with the actress helped introduce him to an even wider audience.

“It was someone that called Kamo that he is needed on Actress Funke Akindele’s set. You know, whenever they want to produce a movie, they always look for who is good in each roles, and you all know Kamo already had fans and followers too but meeting Actress Funke Akindele changed his life and career positively, he became widely accepted more", she stated. 

For Kamo’s mother, the relationship between her son and Funke goes beyond simply working together on movie projects. She described the actress as a mother figure to Kamo and said there is mutual love and respect between them.

She also maintained that Funke continues to take an interest in what Kamo is doing, particularly when it comes to his movie projects. She said the two have remained close despite the attention surrounding their relationship.

“Funke Akindele is just like a Mother to Kamo State, they both love and respect each other. Funke is always supportive of Kamo. She knows about everything going on with Kamo’s movie. They are still close; they still visit each other and they talk 24/7,” she said.

The mother also had a message for people who continue to speculate about the nature of their relationship. Rather than allowing outsiders to create their own interpretations, she urged them to stay out of matters that concern the two of them.

“People should stop poke-nosing into their affairs. They own each other. Funke gave Kamo 100 percent support on this movie and I’m aware,” she said.

She went on to stress that Funke’s support for Kamo is not something new. According to her, the actress has consistently stood by her son, and their relationship remains strong.

“Funke Akindele has always been supportive to my son, they are still very close. People need to stop making assumptions about the two of them.”  

Her comments were made during a podcast appearance, where she spoke about Funke’s influence on Kamo’s career and the relationship they have maintained over time.
