Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has opened up about a painful experience she went through while balancing her personal life with her demanding career in the film industry.

The actress revealed that she lost a four-month pregnancy at a time when she was actively involved in filming. She shared the emotional experience during the Bestie Jesu Concert 2026, which took place in Lagos on Saturday.

According to Toyin, the pregnancy loss occurred while she was working on a movie. She described the period as particularly difficult because she had to deal with the emotional impact of the loss while still being involved in a professional production.

Toyin explained that she was initially reluctant to inform her parents about what had happened. Her concern was particularly centred on her mother, whom she did not want to worry because of her age.

She eventually informed her husband, actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, about the situation. However, he was not close to her physically at the time, leaving her to seek help and emotional support elsewhere.

The actress recalled that she reached out to Pastor Bolaji Idowu, who reportedly asked questions about the medical situation she was facing. Toyin explained that doctors had recommended an evacuation procedure following the pregnancy loss.

She said the pastor subsequently provided her with financial assistance running into millions of naira to help cover the cost of the medical treatment.

Expressing appreciation for the support she received, Toyin publicly thanked Pastor Bolaji and prayed for God’s blessings upon him.

The revelation came during an event organised by Toyin herself as a Christian worship and praise gathering. The Bestie Jesu Concert brought together worshippers and guests in Lagos for the programme.

Toyin, who is married to Kolawole Ajeyemi, is also a mother and has remained one of the prominent figures in the Nigerian film industry. Over the years, she has combined acting with filmmaking and has featured in and produced several projects.

Her career has included appearances in productions such as The Wedding Party and Ojukokoro, while her work as a filmmaker has continued to attract attention in Nigerian cinemas.

Despite her demanding entertainment career, Toyin has also spoken on different occasions about motherhood, family and personal experiences. Her latest account offered audiences a glimpse into one of the more difficult moments she experienced away from the screen and highlighted the support she received during that period.
