Media personality Egungun of Lagos has taken a swipe at the state of things in Nigeria, raising concerns over the alleged circulation of f@ke and questionable products in the country.
The entertainer expressed his frustration by pointing to products Nigerians regularly buy and use, suggesting that counterfeit versions have become difficult to escape.
Among the items he mentioned were sanitary pads, Oral-B, Hollandia yoghurt, drinks, creams, medicines and drips. He questioned the situation in which products that people depend on for their daily needs and wellbeing could allegedly be compromised.

Egungun did not stop at the issue of consumer products. He also took a swipe at the government, adding “Fake president” to his list before concluding that “Everything in this country is f@ke.”
His choice of words showed that his frustration was not only about counterfeit goods but also about the wider situation in Nigeria. By putting everyday products and political leadership in the same list, he appeared to be making a broader statement about what he sees as a failure of systems meant to protect and serve Nigerians.
The mention of f@ke medicines and drips also gives his complaint a more serious angle, as such products can have direct consequences for people who rely on them for treatment. F@ke or substandard medical products have long been a concern in the country, making the authenticity of medicines an important issue for consumers.
For many Nigerians, checking whether a product is genuine can already be difficult, particularly when counterfeit versions are made to look similar to the original brands. This makes the concerns raised by Egungun particularly pointed, as the products he mentioned include items commonly found in homes, shops and pharmacies.
His post also touched on the frustration many people feel over the cost and quality of goods and services, as well as the difficulty of knowing whether what they are buying is genuine.
Rather than focusing on one particular product, Egungun used his list to paint a much wider picture of his dissatisfaction with the country. His reference to Nigeria as “hell as described in the Bible” summed up the intensity of his frustration with the situation.
The media personality’s statement comes at a time when issues surrounding consumer safety, counterfeit goods and the quality of products remain important concerns for Nigerians.
