Nigerian content creator Diiadem has given an insight into the money she says comes from her Snapchat presence, revealing that her earnings from the platform can run into thousands of dollars within just a few weeks.

The creator explained that her relationship with Snapchat goes beyond simply making posts and waiting for the next payout. According to her, she continues to receive payments from the platform even on days when she does not put out any content.

For Diiadem, the arrangement has become a source of regular income. She claimed that Snapchat pays her between $3,000 and $5,000 every two weeks, suggesting that her earnings are tied to the audience and content platform she has built over time.

Speaking about how the payments work for her, she said:

“I’m the first creator to be paid by Snapchat in Nigeria. Even on days I don’t post, I still wake up and see money in my account. I get paid $3,000-$5,000 every two weeks,”

Her statement gives a glimpse into a side of content creation that is often not obvious to people who only see the finished posts. While creators are usually associated with the videos, pictures and other content they put out, the business behind a successful digital platform can involve several different forms of income.

In Diiadem’s case, she is presenting Snapchat as one of those income sources. Her claim that she can receive money even when she has not posted that day also suggests that previous content, audience activity or other factors connected to her account may continue to generate earnings.

The amount she mentioned is also significant when considered over a longer period. At the lower end of her estimate, receiving $3,000 every two weeks would amount to roughly $6,000 in a four-week period. At $5,000 every two weeks, that would be around $10,000 over the same period, although her actual earnings would naturally depend on the payments she receives.

Diiadem’s comments also point to how much the creator economy has changed. Content creators are no longer relying solely on traditional jobs or one-off brand deals to make money. Platforms with large audiences can provide additional opportunities for people who are able to build and maintain a strong following.

For Diiadem, Snapchat appears to have become an important part of that equation. Her revelation puts some figures behind the work that goes into maintaining a digital audience and shows the kind of income she says can come from it.

She has now made it clear that, at least from her experience, earning from Snapchat does not necessarily stop simply because she takes a day off from posting.
